Report on Promotional visit of Erasmus Mundus project  MEDEA at the University Of Perugia

The representatives of Tbilisi State Medical University, regional scientific coordinator Prof. Ia Avaliani and regional contact person Dr. Nino Kandelaki have held a promotional visit to the University of Perugia, Italy on 28-31 October, 2014 within the frames of the Project MEDEA.

The main goal of the visit was the promotion of the project MEDEA at the University of Perugia to ensure their representatives active participation in the exchange programs.

To fulfil this goal, Project scientific coordinator from the project partner University of Perugia: Prof. Mr.Tommaso Beccari and Prof. Maria Pia Viola Magni,  have arranged our meetings with authorities: Prof. Benedetto Natalini, Dean of the Department of Pharmacy and Ms Sonia Trinari, head of International Affairs Department of the University of Perugia and University other staff members.

During these meetings we have explored possibilities of enhancing the participation of Perugian applicants in the second call  of “MEDEA” and the ways to make TSMU  and other Third country Universities more attractive for applicants of all level exchange programs: students, Masters and academic staff; we have discussed about the ways of sustainability of our partnership and ensuring its further development.

We have delivered MEDEA posters and leaflets to local representatives to distribute among students and staff.

Overall the visit was a success and productive. Hopefully it will increase the attractiveness of Third country partner Universities and total number of European participants in the Second call of EMA2  project “MEDEA”.
